The most awaited Marathi film 'Satyashodhak,' a
biopic of India's popular and eminent social reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Phule
written and directed by Nilesh Jalamkar is all set to hit screens on January 5,
2024.
Lead actor Sandeep Kulkarni, known for his
acclaimed performances in Marathi and Hindi films will be portraying the pivotal
role of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule in this film alongside with actor Rajshri
Deshpande who will playing role of Savitri Bai Phule.
In a freewheeling chat, Sandeep Kulkarni said, “I
am very much excited for my upcoming biopic of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule titled as
“Satyashodhak”. The biopic is not just based upon the life and times of eminent
social reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Phule. On the contrary the film does showcase the
struggle faced by both Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Savitri Bai Phule on the big
screen with regards to women education and other social issues faced within the society. This involved a lot of study and deep
research.”
The supporting cast includes, Ravindra Mankani,
Ganesh Yadav, Suresh Vishwakarma, Siddheshwar Zadbuke, Aniket Kelkar, Anirudh
Bankar, Rahul Tayade, Monica Tayade and Jayashree Gaikwad in pivotal roles contribute
equally well to the film's emotional depth.
'Satyashodhak' film is a tribute to the spirit
of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, a visionary who paved the way for social justice. It's
a story that needs to be shared not only to entertain but also to inspire and
provoke thought on contemporary social issues.
'Satyashodhak' film is slated for January 5, 2024
release. Coincidentally, January 3 is observed as Savitribai Phule Jayanti, the
birth anniversary of India's first lady school teacher.
